Punta Ala – Residence Solemaremma

Punta Ala, a hamlet of Castiglione della Pescaia, can be easily reached from Residence Solemaremma. It is an exclusive tourist destination located on the homonymous promontory surrounded by the sea and covered with a thick pine forest. The beach is a coastline of about 2 km of great natural beauty with its fine golden sand, crystal clear waters and the Mediterranean pine forest that frames it. Punta Ala is famous for its sailing regattas (Luna Rossa) and the well-equipped port, which attracts the attention of VIPs and elite tourists.

Punta Ala and aviator Italo Balbo

The town has a recent past. Aviator Italo Balbo was struck by the beauty of this place while flying over it and decided to buy an ancient fortification giving it the name of Punta Ala. The place also became the basis for the training of his fleet. The first villas and the port were built in the ’60s.
